Dear Supporters of R.J. Haney Heritage Village,

Reflecting on 2024, we are deeply grateful for the generosity of donors like you, whose support has helped us achieve incredible milestones at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum. This year, your contributions made it possible to advance many initiatives from our five-year strategic plan, preserving history and enhancing the visitor experience.

Here are some highlights of what we accomplished together in 2024:

• Rebuilding the stage at the Amphitheatre is a critical feature for our Dinner Theatre Program and weddings.
• Extending our season into late September, welcoming thousands of additional visitors.
• Enhancing wayfinding with new signage in the Museum Gallery and along the Highway frontage.
• Cladding a key storage container in our service area improves aesthetics.
• Widening the driveway to ease access to our main parking lot.
• Planting the Heritage Apple Orchard at the Homestead, celebrating the Shuswap’s agricultural legacy.
• A flag pole at the Broadview School House was erected to add to the stories we share in the Heritage Village.

We also laid the groundwork for future enhancements:

• Developing design plans for the Laitinen House, Pidhirney House, and Homestead, opening exciting opportunities for expanded interpretation.
• Continued work on interactive and interpretive experiences, incorporating innovative methods to engage visitors.
• Created a visitor experience survey, providing valuable insights to refine our programs.
• Partnered with the Shuswap Rotary Club to offer the “Kids 12 and under get in free” program during July and August, fostering the next generation of history enthusiasts.

These accomplishments, alongside events like High Tea, Murder Mystery, Spooktacular, and the Annual Car Show, helped us achieve a record-breaking year with over 20,000 guests exploring our vibrant cultural landscape.

Looking ahead, 2025 promises even more exciting developments as we work to complete projects, enhance visitor experiences, and preserve the stories of our shared past.
