Volunteers Needed

Hello everyone,

August is here and, WOW, lots has been happening in the Village since the start of the season! Thank you to all of you who have volunteered so far, your time and hard work are greatly appreciated ❤️

These next couple of weeks are extremely busy with Dinner Theatre up and running, the Annual Car Show happening next Sunday and Burger & Jazz at the end of the month, once more I ask for your support. Below is a list of the positions available, the priority is to fill out the shifts for the next two weeks, but all of them are important. Please take a look at it and let me know if you can give us a hand.

August Dinner Theatre:

  • Food plating & Bussing – Looking for volunteers for August 8, 9, 11, 15, 16, 23 & 25 from 5:45 to 9:00pm.
  • Bussing – Looking for volunteers for August 8, 9, 11, 15, 16, 18, 21, 23 & 25 from 6:15 to 9:30pm.
  • Usher – looking for a volunteer for August 11, 23 & 25 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. As an Usher, you use the golf cart to take guests who need assistance from the handicap parking lot to the Amphitheatre and back after the show.
  • Kitchen helper – looking for volunteers to help Deb in the kitchen from 9:30am to 12:30pm on August 7, 9, 10, 14, 15, 18, 21, 23 & 25. One volunteer is needed each day.

August 11 – Car Show

  • Parkers & pointers, looking for 7 volunteers per shift. First shift from 7:15 to 11:00 am. Second shift from 10:45am to 2:15pm.
  • Pancake breakfast, looking for 1 volunteer to hand out juice, pop or coffee cups from 8:15 to 11:45am.
  • BBQ lunch, looking for 1 volunteer to hand out juice, pop or water from 11:30am to 2:15pm.
  • Ice Cream & Sweets Station, looking for 2 volunteers from 10:00am to 2:00pm to handle cash and hand out novelty ice cream, treats, sandwiches, coffee and beverages.
  • Bussers for the Sprig of Heather restaurant, looking for 2 volunteers from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
  • Kitchen helper, looking for 1 volunteer to assist the kitchen from 7:30 to 11:30am.

Burger & Jazz

  • August 28 – Set up, looking for 3 volunteers to help set up the tents starting at 10:00am.
  • August 29 – Event day - Parkers & pointers, looking for 2 volunteers from 4:30 to 5:30pm.
  • August 30 – Takedown, looking for 4 volunteers to help take down the tents starting at 10am.

Harvest Celebration:

  • Sep 4 – Looking for 2 volunteers to help Set up tents and tables, starting at 10am.
  • Sep 5 – Looking for 3 volunteers to help Set up pop-up tents and chairs, starting at 10am.
  • Sep 7 – Looking for 3 volunteers to help put together the Sprays and 2 volunteers to husk corn from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Sep 8 – Event day
  • Parkers & pointers, Looking for 3 volunteers to direct parking from 2:30 to 4:30pm.
  • Food tickets sale, looking for 3 volunteers from 3:00 to 6:00pm.
  • Raffle tickets sale, looking for 1 volunteer from 3:00 to 5:30pm.
  • Food platting @ the Haney tent, looking for 3 volunteers from 2:45 to 6:15pm.
  • Bussers, looking for 5 volunteers from 3:15 to 7:00pm.
  • House sitters, looking for 1 volunteer from 2:30 to 6:00pm.
  • Looking for volunteers to help with takedown and clean up starting at 6pm.

Sep 19 – Wedding set up. Looking for one volunteer to help set up the tents and tables for a wedding starting at 10am.

Sep 26 – Save On Foods Awards Dinner Buffet, looking for volunteers to help with Buffet Assist, Bussing & kitchen prep. Details to come.

Sep 27 – Village closes for the season

Sep 28 – Volunteer Appreciation Lunch. Save the date!

The prize of our September Best Draw Ever is:

Volunteer between August 6 and September 27. Every 2 shifts will give you one entry.

The draw will be on Saturday, September 28, 2024, during the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch. The winner will be contacted by phone.

If you know of anyone or have a friend or family member interested in volunteering, please send them our way. As part of our Refer a Friend Program, your name will be entered in a draw for every person who signs in and volunteers for at least one shift. Remember to let us know who you are referring.
