Quilts in the Village – July 13
Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this unique event showcasing over 230 quilts and with special guest Quilter – Teacher – Storyteller Dianne Jansson

Parkers, looking for 3 volunteers for the morning shift from 9:45am to 1:00pm, and 4 volunteers for the afternoon shift from 12:45 to 4:00pm.
Gate attendants, looking for 2 volunteers per shift. Morning shift from 9:45am to 1:00pm. Afternoon shift from 12:45 to 4:00pm.
Bussers for the Sprig of Heather restaurant, looking for 1 volunteer per shift. Morning shift from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Afternoon shift from 12:00 to 3:00pm.
Ice cream & Sweets Station, looking for 1 volunteers from 10:00am to 2:00pm to handle cash and hand out novelty ice cream, treats, sandwiches, coffee and beverages.
Interpreters for the Haney House, looking for 1 volunteer for the morning shift from 10:30am to 1:30pm, and 2 volunteers for the afternoon shift from 1:15 to 4:15pm.
Usher, looking for a volunteer for the afternoon shift from 1:00 to 4:14pm.
July 14 – Take down, Looking for 3 volunteers to help taking down tents and putting away tables and chairs starting at 10am.

Busser, looking for one volunteer to support our restaurant staff from 11:30am to 2:00pm.

July 19 – Bill Laird’s Pie Lunch
July 18 – Looking for a kitchen helper from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
July 19 – Event day
Kitchen helper, looking for a volunteer to support our kitchen staff from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
Servers/Bussers, looking for 4 volunteers to help serving & bussing from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
Parking, looking for 2 volunteers to help with parking from 11:00am to 12:00pm.

Dinner Theatre:
A well known event and a favorite of all. This year we added a Thursday show. Inspired by newspaper articles from the Observer dating back to 1908, offering a delightful hint of time travel.

Kitchen Helpers, looking for a volunteer from 9:30am to 12:30pm for each of the following dates: July 17, 18, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28 & 31.
Bussers, looking for volunteers from 5:45 to 9:15pm for the following dates: July 14, 18, 19, 21, 26 & 28.
Usher, looking for a volunteer from 6:30 to 8:30pm on July 14, 26 & 28.

The 2024 season has been officially extended!

The Village will close for the season on Friday, September 27 and the date for the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch has been moved to Saturday, September 28 (not September 15, as planned). Please make a note of this and mark it in your calendar.

We are looking to expand our group of volunteers

If you know of anyone or have a friend or family member interested in volunteering, please send them our way. As part of our Refer a Friend Program, your name will be entered in a draw for every person who signs in and volunteers for at least one shift. Remember to let us know who you are referring.

July Best Draw Ever Prize Reveal

The prize for our next draw is:

2 Heavy-duty Camping Chairs, folding table with cup holders & 4 Frank’s Campfire Sticks
With a value of $320.00

The chairs and table are high-quality, great for any outdoor activity, with steel frame and 600D polyester material; they are lightweight and come with carrying bag. The chairs offer superior comfort with an extra wide seat, foam upper back and seat and have a load capacity of 400 lbs. They have an insulated 4-can cooler with dual zipper handle on the left arm and a large solid cup holder with drain hole on the right arm.

Frank’s Campfire Sticks are manufactured locally; they are 34” long and have a solid wood handle. Their design reduces the heat from the fire that travels up the rod.

Volunteering between June 10 and July 31 for five shifts will give you one entry.

Worry there aren't enough event dates for you to volunteer before July 31?

Sign up for shifts in upcoming events and/or Dinner Theatre shifts during August. Yes, you are reading it correctly, when you sign up for a shift on an upcoming event, we will count it as a volunteered shift, because we know you love us and won’t let us down 😊. There is no limit on how many entries you can have.

The draw will be on Monday, August 5, 2024. The winner will be contacted by phone.

House Sitter, looking for 1 volunteer from 11:30am to 2:00pm.

Aug 3 – Anniversary Buffet Dinner
Buffet Assists/Bussers, looking for 2 volunteers from 5:30 to 8:00pm
Bussers, looking for 2 volunteers from 5:45 to 8:30pm.

Car Show
Aug 9 – looking for 2 volunteers to help set up the grilling station, pop up tents, stage, etc. starting at 10am.
Aug 11 – Event day
Parkers, looking for 7 volunteers per shift. First shift from 7:15 to 11:00 am. Second shift from 10:45am to 2:15pm.
Gate keepers, looking for 3 volunteers per shift. First shift from 7:15 to 11:00 am. Second shift from 10:45am to 2:15pm.
Car Registration, looking for 3 volunteers from 7:30 to 10:00am. 
Pancake breakfast, looking for 3 volunteers to Plate Food and 1 volunteer to hand out juice, pop or coffee cups. Both shifts are from 8:15 to 11:45am.
BBQ lunch, looking for 2 volunteers to work the BBQ from 11:00am to 2:00pm. 1 volunteer to handle cash, 1 to hand out juice, pop or coffee cups and 3 to plate food from 11:30am to 2:15pm.
