We're back! Join R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum and The Mall at Piccadilly as we celebrate BC Heritage's Heritage Week theme: Always in All Ways.
This week-long celebration from February 20-25 at The Mall at Piccadilly and Family Day is on Saturday, February 25. Returning this year is the Best of the Shuswap Pie Baking Competition and our famous live Pie Auction!
This year's heritage week theme of Always in All Ways invites you to explore your local community's heritage in all the ways that excite you! Spend time at the mall, checking out the special heritage displays and exhibitors ad the Deep Creek Tool Museum presents a Whatzit contest. Take a peek at what's up for bids in the online auction and enter the library's week-long Haney Heritage Village colouring contest.
Online Auction - Mark your calendar! Our online auction opens on Monday, February 20, at 9:00 am. This fundraising auction for the Village and Museum has over 90 items that local businesses, organizations and individuals have generously donated. Items for bid include various gift certificates for spa and beauty treatments, entertainment, food and beverage, automotive and business services. There are clothing and accessories, pet care baskets, garden items, home decor items, and so much more. The Salmon Arm community has made the silent auction one of the Village's most successful fundraising events of the season. Check it out and place your bids before the auction closes Saturday, February 25, at 3:00 pm. Click here to view the online auction.
When the auction closes on February 25, you can pay through PayPal at the checkout. Millions of people trust PayPal to buy, sell, and send money—without sharing their financial information. Or, on Monday, February 27, call the Village at 250-832-5243 to pay over the phone with your credit card.
Winning bidders can pick up their items at R.J. Haney Heritage Village from February 27 to March 3, from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. We will be offering curbside pickup. Follow the signs when you enter the Village.
All the Ways to Make a Pie Exhibit - Some things change, and some stay sweetly similar. Visit our newest mini-exhibit, All the Ways to Make a Pie, on display at the Mall at Piccadilly for Heritage Week. This interactive exhibit, curated by Erin Stodola, asks you to step back a century to identify and find all the tools and ingredients used in pie baking and serving. Then, check out a truly old pie recipe and learn a bit more about the fruitful history of the Shuswap. You can find this window exhibit kitty-corner to the pond.
Colouring Contest with Okanagan Regional Library: Salmon Arm Branch - Hot off the press! This year we've teamed up with your local library to release our new R.J. Haney Heritage Village-themed colouring sheets. Pick up your colouring sheets February 20th – 25th in the library, or stay awhile and colour! Colouring sheets can be returned to the Library or R.J. Haney by March 1 to be displayed in the Library until March 6.
Join us on February 25, for Family Fun Day at The Mall at Piccadilly
