The 21st Annual Classic Antique Car Show, a favourite among car collectors and spectators from far and wide, will take place on Sunday, August 14 at R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum. The show is one of the largest in the Shuswap and features classic, hot rods, foreign and antique automobiles displayed throughout the Heritage Village.
Are you interested in showing your vehicle? Registration is free from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Registered cars and trucks will receive a commemorative Car Show ribbon and have the opportunity to win in the “People’s Choice Awards.” Everyone is welcome to participate.
Attendees will receive a ballot at the gate to vote for their favourite vehicles in the “People’s Choice Awards.” The “People’s Choice” categories include Antique pre-1916, Vintage Pre 1942, American- Stock Only to 1969, American Stock Only 1970 and up, (Modified Hot Rods and Custom up to 1969), Modified (Hot Rods and Custom 1970 and newer) and Foreign. 1st and 2nd place ribbons will be awarded in each class. People’s Choice balloting will close at 1:00 pm with ribbons being awarded at 1:30 pm.
Visitors to the show will enjoy musical entertainment from local duo Green Room, featuring well-known local entertainers Lawren Clark and Elaine Holmes. Elaine’s vocal power and range, combined with Lawren’s soft rock blend, create a smooth sound sure to keep the car crowd singing and dancing along.
Come early and start your day at the outdoor kitchen with a delicious pioneer pancake breakfast and stay for a BBQ lunch with all the fixings. The fully licensed Sprig of Heather restaurant will be serving a lunch special as well as fresh baked goods, ice cream and more!!
Admission at the gate is $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors, 6-17 years $9.00, and 5 and under are free! The family Rate is $30.00 and includes two guardians and all dependent children under 18. Annual pass holders receive a $1.00 off gate admission. This Car Show is fun for the whole family!
The Heritage Village is a lovely place that offers a unique and authentic experience for visitors to come and explore our rich heritage. Set on 40 acres of the prettiest farmland in the Shuswap, it is the largest heritage attraction in the interior and features 24 relocated and replicated buildings, including the original 1910 Haney House. There are over 30 exhibits, which tell the stories of Salmon Arm and the area. Visit the Children’s Museum & Discovery Centre and outdoor play area for hours of family fun!
