High Tea at R.J. Haney Heritage – June 1, 2025 – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Join us for an elegant afternoon at R.J. Haney Heritage Village's 14th Annual High Tea on June 1, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Enjoy a curated menu of finger sandwiches, scones, and specialty teas by Sprig of Heather, with live entertainment, games, and the best hat contest! Tickets are $38.00; seating is limited. Reserve at 250-832-5243. Dress in your finest Edwardian style and step into a world of timeless charm and camaraderie! 

Early Settler School Experience

Where History Comes to Life for Students!
Step back in time and experience a school day from the early 1900s at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum. Designed for Grades 1-5, this immersive program brings history to life as students take part in a traditional lesson in the Broadview Schoolhouse, explore the historic Haney House, and watch the blacksmith at work. Hands-on activities include panning for gold, churning ice cream, walking on stilts, and exploring nature trails.

Murder Mystery June 12, 13 and 14, 2025

Step into a world of suspense at R.J. Haney Heritage Village's second annual Murder Mystery event on June 12, 13, and 14! Guests will be led through a story filled with mystery, thrilling intrigue, and delicious dining. Tickets are $40.00, and seating is limited—reserve yours by calling 250-832-5243. Don't miss your chance to gather clues, solve the mystery, and enjoy an unforgettable night of surprises! 

Father's Day - June 15, 2025 – 10:00 am to 4:30 pm

Play the Pioneer Way! We are offering a special $25.00 gate admission for Dad, Mom, and all the children to celebrate Dad. Admission includes tours and scheduled activities. The Sprig of Heather restaurant will offer a special lunch in honour of Dad. Admission at the gate.

Burger and Jazz Night July 19, 2025 - 5:00 pm

"Come for an evening of jazz magic as R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum teams up with the Salmon Arm Jazz Club. Indulge in the rhythmic beats of jazz while relishing a gourmet burger set against the backdrop of the starlit sky at R.J. Haney Heritage Village.

Cowboy campfire Show & Cocktail Hour! July 4, 2025

Join us for an evening of music, drama, and cowboy fun with Rob Dinwoodie and his 3-piece band! Enjoy a thrilling pre-show roping competition, followed by Western storytelling and music, topped off with a Cowboy Campfire under the stars. Snacks will be available by pre-order when you reserve your tickets.

"Quilts in the Village." Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Join us for 'Quilts in the Village in partnership with the Shuswap Quilters Guild and Thread and Paper. This one-day event features special guests, a vendor village and more. Whether you're a novice or an experienced quilter, don't miss this chance to celebrate quilting artistry. Admission at the gate is $15.00 and includes event and Village attractions access. Dinner Theatre – July 13 to August 24, 2025

Join us in celebrating thirty years of Villains and Vittles Dinner Theatre Productions at R.J. Haney Heritage Village! From July 13 to August 24, enjoy an unforgettable evening of laughter, drama, and delicious food. Reservations are required for all performances. The Soirée Speakeasy at R.J. Haney Heritage Village July 17, 2025

Step through the secret entrance and into the Soirée Speakeasy at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum—where the cocktails are cold, the jazz is hot, and the law’s nowhere in sight.

Annual Car Show - August 10, 2025 – 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Don’t miss the Shuswap region’s largest gathering of show vehicles at the 24th Annual Car Show on August 10, 2025! From 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, explore over 100 classic cars throughout R.J. Haney Heritage Village. Enjoy a pancake breakfast, BBQ lunch, and live music. Admission is $15.00, which includes entry to Village attractions. Show vehicle owners get free registration and admission from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. Bring the family for a fun-filled day of cars, food, and entertainment in a historic setting!

Burger and Jazz night August 28, 2025

"Get ready for an extraordinary night of jazz as R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum teams up with the Salmon Arm Jazz Club. Immerse yourself in the enchanting jazz tunes while savouring the flavours of a gourmet burger, all beneath the stars at R.J. Haney Heritage Village.

25th Annual Harvest Celebration - September 14, 2025 

Join us for the 25th Annual Harvest Celebration at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum on September 14, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and savour local flavours from top restaurants, cafes, cideries, wineries, and breweries. Tickets are $38.00 and include three sample tickets, with additional samples for $4.00 each. Enjoy live music and your last chance to enter the Dinner Theatre raffle. This is a 19+ event, and tickets are limited—reserve yours by calling 250-832-5243. Don’t miss this celebration of community, food, and fun!

Harvest School Program – September 2025

This educational program for school students in grades 1 to 3 teaches how to make apple sauce from scratch using an apple peeler and old wood stove. Beyond the hands-on experience of making applesauce, students will explore additional activities, including washing clothes on a scrub board. These activities collectively offer a holistic understanding of pioneer life, allowing students to immerse themselves in the various tasks and skills integral to daily life during that historical period. This immersive approach provides students with a well-rounded perspective, fostering a deeper appreciation for the challenges and practices of pioneers. Space is limited. Call 250-832-5243.

Spooktacular October 25 and 26, 2025

IGet ready for a hauntingly fun evening at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum's 26th Annual Spooktacular on October 25 & 26, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:30 pm! Admission is $15.00 per person, with free entry for kids five and under. Enjoy family-friendly Halloween thrills with the 'Pumpkin Patch Path,' Mt. Ida Church, Mystical Fortune Teller, Menacing Mad Scientist, 'Hocus Pocus Midway,' and Photo Studio. For those who dare, cross the 'Bridge of Last Hope' to explore 'Shady Lane' and the spooky Fraser Avenue Haunted House and Spook Trail. Food vendors will be on-site. Call 250-832-5243 for details.

Annual Work Bee Date TBA- Be part of the community effort to prepare R.J. Haney Heritage Village for the upcoming season! Join the Haney Staff and the Salmon Arm Rotary Club for our Annual Work Bee. To sign up for this collaborative event, call 250-832-5243. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

The Work Bee is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and beautification of the Village, ensuring it's ready to welcome visitors. As a token of our gratitude, lunch will be provided, making it a rewarding and enjoyable day of community involvement. Don't miss the chance to be part of this annual tradition that brings people together to support and enhance the Heritage Village.

Here are the hours of operation for R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum:

  • Shoulder Season (May – June and September): Wednesday - Sunday: 10 am – 5 pm
  • Peak Season (July and August): Open seven days a week: 10 am – 5 pm
  • Archives and Museum (Year-round):
    • Wednesday and Thursday: 10 am – 4 pm
    • For appointments, please call 250-832-5289

These hours provide a schedule for visitors to plan their visits to the village, museum, and archives, ensuring an enriching experience throughout the seasons.

  •  Sprig of Heather restaurant hours of operation: Wednesday – Sunday 10am-4pm. 
  • Village and Sprig of Heather restaurant closes for the 2025 season on September 26.

The Village is a great place to visit with friends and family!  With a variety of sights to see and explore, spend the whole day getting to know Salmon Arm’s history at the Village.
