The Salmon Arm Museum and Heritage Association operates R.J. Haney Heritage Village and is a registered non-profit society relying on donations, grants, and revenue-generating events to continue operations and complete capital projects.

Initially willed to the District of Salmon Arm by Marjorie Haney Fulton, the property, and its buildings are owned by the City of Salmon Arm. A proviso in Mrs. Fulton's will requested that the Museum Association manage the property in memory of her father, R.J. Haney. Some years ago the City entered a fee-for-service agreement with the Association to manage the property, and the contract is renewed every five years. The City is generous, giving the Association an annual grant to manage the property and much-appreciated work in kind, such as plowing and grading the drive into the facility. Other major supporters are the B.C. Arts Council and the Gaming Commission. The businesses and service clubs of Salmon Arm and area are also great supporters of various events and projects and volunteers are a necessary and appreciated source of funds and help.

As a museum and heritage village dedicated to the depiction of early community life, we are always looking for donations of artefacts and archival records from this area. Before you discard those old items, give the Curator a phone call at 250-832-5289.

Consider a memorial donation at the Village that will leave a lasting and unique tribute to loved ones or remember landmark moments in your life! A memorial donation not only marks the lives and times of special people, but your donation also helps R.J. Haney Heritage Village preserve the past for future generations

If you are interested in supporting projects or events or would like to make a memorial donation please contact the General Manager at 250-832-5243. She can discuss the various ways in which we need help and what area of the operation you may be interested in supporting.

Community support is essential so that we may collect, preserve, exhibit, and educate the citizens of the Shuswap and its visitors.

To contribute to our cause, you have several convenient options:
1. For e-transfers, send your donation to info@salmonarmmuseum.org.
2. If you prefer to make a donation using your credit card, give us a call at the Village: 250-832-5243.
3. Visit our website and Look for the "Donate Now" button in the top right-hand corner of the homepage. Click on it, and follow the provided instructions.
4. If you'd like to donate by cheque, please make it payable to "R.J. Haney Heritage Village and the Salmon Arm Museum." and return it, along with your cheque, to: 751 Highway 97B, Box 1642 Salmon Arm, BC V1E 4P7
Your support is greatly appreciated!

Bequests

R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum strives to improve its programs, collections, and develop the Village to better reflect the heritage of Salmon Arm and area. Preserving local history helps children and newcomers appreciate what life was like in the early 1900s.

What better way to serve our community then to make a bequest towards this goal? The everlasting tribute will ensure the future development of the village and museum and will be recognized on a donor’s wall. Donations are held in trust by the Shuswap Community Foundation.

If you are interested in more information on how to include us in your will and estate, please contact us at 250-832-5243. Memorial donations will be used as directed by the donor. Gifts are tax-deductible.
